Abba Healthcare
Care close to home.
Abba Healthcare brings essential care closer to the communities that need it most. Through community clinics, trained local health workers, and preventative care initiatives, healthcare becomes relational, accessible, and rooted in everyday life. By strengthening local capacity and working alongside existing systems, Abba Healthcare helps communities build healthier futures where care is delivered with dignity and compassion.
We do things differently...
Abba Healthcare is mainly focused on community health. We have partnered with service provider Gem Meg (University of Pretoria) to identify and train community members in basic home-based care for the local community. In doing so, we create jobs and fulfil the ministry of looking after the sick. Small groups of students are trained at a time to ensure they get the most out of the programme provided. We pay for the course and some necessities, as well as provide a small monthly stipend to assist with basic living costs. Our aim is to get this rolled out in five to six communities per year.
