Access to land, knowledge, and support enables communities to grow their own food and strengthen independence for generations to come. Abba Gardens equips families and local growers with practical training and resources to cultivate sustainable vegetable gardens that improve nutrition and food security. What begins as a garden often becomes something greater: confidence, opportunity, and resilience rooted in the land.
We do things differently...
Abba Gardens is a nationwide seedling distribution initiative with the aim of continuous training and teaching within our communities. Individuals are empowered through the learning of new skills and the ability to provide fresh garden vegetables for their families. Our cost prediction is about R50 000 per month for seedlings, and we are working towards only using heirloom seeds in our future endeavours.
Hands-On Training Programmes:
Our workshops pass on essential gardening skills, empowering participants to cultivate their own food sources and cultivate the grounds of their own lives.
Support for Home Gardening:
We share guidance, seeds, and tools, empowering families to grow thriving gardens, improve nutrition, and regain the dignity that comes from supporting themselves.
Community Engagement & Collaboration:
Our gardens encourage genuine connection and collaboration, creating networks where people share knowledge and resources to move towards their individual and collective dreams.
